Ponchos are our great love. We go to so much length to create the perfect poncho, you can't imagine it. ;) There is tinkering, planning, drafting, designing, pondering, discussing, printing, testing, changing, being annoyed, being happy, thinking about, sewing, questioning, testing again, deciding, testing again, and so on and so forth. At the end of an intensive development, we are all damn proud of the result

We all love the detail in the poncho, and that is exactly what makes the WAVE HAWAII poncho so unique andlovable. Over time, our collection has grown has grown into a handsome, colorful poncho splendor in which various fabrics have earned their place in the sun.

What are the WAVE HAWAII poncho materials?

We have three different materials for our ponchos.

These are:

• Cotton (100% cotton)
• AirLite (95% cotton/ 5% recycled PES)
• Bamboo (60% viscose made from bamboo fiber and 40% cotton)

All of our cotton items are made from cotton and have been awarded the ÖKO-TEX® Standard 100 certificate. This is based on the extensive ÖKO-TEX® criteria catalog. Our cotton is the WAVE HAWAII classic with most models in different versions:

• Terry cloth, as everyone knows and loves it
• Frottee velor, velvety on the outside and very robust
• Waffle Piqué, with small pack size and quick drying

Behind the name AirLite lies our sustainable performance material. The base is made of recycled polyester (5%), on which the cotton is woven will. On the one hand, this happens on an open basis, which results in a very breathable material. On the other hand, the fabric warms up your wet and cold skin excellently, so that you feel completely comfortable within seconds. However, in warm or hot conditions, there is still no build-up of heat .

Furthermore, the material feels nice and fluffy on your skin. You only come into contact with cotton. In addition, despite their fluffy qualities, the ponchos are really lightweight and dry very quickly. If this isn't sustainable performance material, we don't know what to do. ;)

Bamboo

How does the bamboo tube - the most sustainable natural product - get into the poncho? Our bamboo ponchos are a blend of 60% viscose made from bamboo fiber and 40% cotton.

Bamboo requires very little water to grow, reproduces itself and does not require any pesticides or fertilizers. When dyeing it requires little dye. The smooth and round structure of the bamboo fiber is the secret behind the softness and fluffiness of the bamboo fiber. Poncho. In addition, the bamboo fiber ishypoallergenic, antimicrobial and odorless.

Even if the wet poncho stays in the car for a long time, it doesn't start to smell straight away. On top of that, bamboo fibers absorb up to 70% more moisture than cotton without having an unpleasant odor.

Why are there different poncho materials?

The answer is simple. There are also different materials for different areas of application. In terms of heat factor, water absorption, weight, fluffiness, pack size and application > Our ponchos sometimes differ greatly from one another.
